abc 4 me : CVC- Direct Instruction Resources
An innovative new way to instruct students in Consonant/Vowel/Consonant words. These products are to be used to introduce the concept of the 5 short vowel sounds, and how to use them to blend with consonants to form words.
Vowel Blastoff
A set of 10 A4 sized charts, listing the vowels a,e,i,o,u. Each vowel is represented in the triangle shape unique to ED Specially 4U, which is a visual representation for the medial sound in a word (in this case the vowel in a CVC word). Each letter is colour coded using the ED Specially 4U unique colour coding system, which uses a multi-sensory approach to introducing the letters of the alphabet.
Students learn to follow the vowels taking off in the correct order. Vowels should be said using the short phonetic sounds for a,e,i,o,u when introducing the CVC words.
Vowel instruction can be heightened, using actions starting at the toes for sound /a/, and moving up to knees, hips, elbows and heads/up in the air for blastoff.

Word Attack Blending Cards
This fantastic set of Word Attack Blending Cards, uses the word family ending sounds from the CVC sets. Each vowel has two word family endings that can be blending with the initial consonant sound to practise saying the sounds for CVC words in isolation. This enhances your child\'s blending skills. Cards are colour coordinated to suit the vowels.

Triangle Word Families
A Wonderful classroom resource, which uses the triangle shape with the vowel to portray that the vowel is a medial sound. It uses colour to reinforce the CVC skills and this resource combines the word families for each vowel, to enhance student learning.
